Wedding planning has been an arduous task, to say the least. Forced into date changes that now have us getting married over two years after we got engaged. Venue changes. Color changes. Everything changes, heh. Thankfully we’ve moved beyond that. Contracts are finally signed. Deposits are paid. My father has agreed to help by paying for our catering. I feel like this was the first weekend we were actually able to enjoy the planning process.
Yesterday we kicked off our little wedding adventure by going to Hello Cupcake in Dupont Circle. Why? Well, instead of a traditional wedding cake, we’re doing a big cupcake tower. Yesterday was our tasting and consultation.
And of course, I took pictures:
Clockwise from the top left: Peanut Butter Blossom, Triple Coconut, 24 Carrot, and Dulce de Leche.
Patrick acted as official slicer of the cupcakes that we tasted.
I also had fun with macro. This was my personal favorite: 24 carrot. Patrick’s was Triple Coconut.
It was so much fun. Our consultant, Elena, was really helpful. They gave us complimentary milk (!!) and coffee. We talked dates, etc. It worked out absolutely perfectly.
We’re doing 80 cupcakes, four different flavors. The cupcakes pictured above were the ones we chose, aside from the Dulce de Leche. That one was really good, but we’re going to do Peanut Butter Blossom, 24 Carrot, Triple Coconut, and a to be determined vegan option.
I’m so excited. Even though it won’t be a big designer fondant-covered dream, it’s going to be so amazingly tasty, and I still think that all of the cupcakes arranged will look absolutely amazing. Seriously, the cupcake were so good. I can’t wait for everyone to be enjoying them.
