It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful day. I don’t even know where to begin.  First, it’s our anniversary, as I mentioned yesterday.  Second of all, it finally feels like Christmas. We woke up early because we had an appointment to see an apartment in Old Town Alexandria.

An artist’s rendering of the little community. No joke.

It’s perfect. It’s more than perfect.  I could go into a lot of details like all the natural light, the quaintness, the amount of space… but I’ll just cut to the part of the morning where Patrick said he loved it and was “sold” and then I started dancing around the living room area of the apartment.  Apparently the owner of the complex high fived Patrick, as well, heh.

Needless to say, it was a perfect start to the day to find the place we’re moving into in a couple of months.  Soon I’ll be back in Virginia, and in Old Town no less! Swoon!

After our appointment, we took a two minute bus ride to the heart of Old Town, where we were meeting Anamarie and her husband for this year’s Scottish Walk.  As anyone in the area knows, it was raining and kind of gross this morning… but then it started turning into snow!  Granted my toesies turned into icicles and it was wet, but for awhile there, it was like a winter wonderland.  Definitely the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Here are some pictures from today…

It was incredible amounts of fun.  Afterward, Patrick, Anamarie, Josh and I headed to the Fish Market for lunch, followed by some holiday shopping at the Christmas Attic (love!) and the Paper Source.  It was a perfect day.

Eventually we parted ways, and after a quick drink at McFadden’s and a stop at Trader Joe’s, we’re now cuddled up on the couch with two sleepy puppies, with the living room only being lit by the Christmas tree.

What a perfect day.  Wintery, Christmas fun, a great guy, amazing friends, our new home… life is good!

Sounds fantastic! And I’m totally digging the artist’s rendering of the community! I love Alexandria — a good friend of mine just moved into a complex off King Street and I’m green with envy. At least I can go visit her often and then take the Metro around and be silly, pretending — for a moment — that I live there. 🙂 hehe
